In Venice gondola rowing is a sport. These gondolas (gondole) are specially built and lighter than the better known traditional black gondolas (gondole). Practice making perfect many gondola rowers can be seen practicing along the canals. They are as well used as a car or a bicycle would be used on roads. This picture is one of a series of three which can be framed either individually or as part of a triptych.
