Description
This is a controlled gorse fire in West Cork. Unfortunately during dry spells like in April 2020, the fires can spread easily and the fire service has to be called. The controlled burning of scrubland, vegetation etc. is then made illegal for landowners in different areas of West Cork, Ireland.
THE BEARA PENINSULA:
In the far South West of Ireland the tides and winds of the Atlantic beat upon the mountains of the Slieve Miskish and Caha ranges. This is Beara. It is a hard land of mist and legends and enchanting beauty whose landscape, myths and magical light have inspired poets and artists across the ages.
