Description
A black and white view of the sea and the bamboo park in Glengarriff on the Beara Peninsula, Bantry Bay. Two swans, inhabitants of the park, have just been fed and are relaxing by the shore. In the background one can see the Caha Mountains and the Sugar Loaf.
The park is a unique setting of 13 acres on one of the most beautiful bays in Ireland.
It looks like a lake but is an inlet of the ocean. The climate is mild and many plants grow there such as bamboos, palm trees, ferns, etc. It is a peaceful and quiet place to walk around, sit down, enjoy the view and meditate.
THE BEARA PENINSULA:
In the far South West of Ireland the tides and winds of the Atlantic beat upon the mountains of the Slieve Miskish and Caha range. This is Beara. It is a hard land of mists and legends and enchanting beauty whose landscape, myths and magical light have inspired poets and artists across the ages.
