The Derreenataggart Stone Circle, 3,000 years old, 7.8m in diameter, dates from the Bronze Age and may have consisted of 15 Stones, of which 12 survive and 3 have fallen.It lies on a plateau in the Slieve Miskish mountains, west of the fishing port of Castletownbere, and overlooks Bantry Bay and Bere Island. It is a beautiful place where one can enjoy a moment of quiet reflection, peace and solitude.
