Description
Pony and horse races take place yearly near the village of Cluin, Allihies, Ireland, at the foot of the Slieve Miskish mountains.
Allihies is a village at the tip of the beautiful and rugged Beara Peninsula on the Wild Atlantic Way. The horse racing takes place during the Allihies Festival in the first two weeks of August, and there are also great performances by some of the best Irish musicians as well as artists displaying their artwork and craft in open studios.

In the far South West of Ireland the tides and winds of the Atlantic beat upon the mountains of the Slieve Miskish and Caha ranges. This is Beara. It is a hard land of mist and legends and enchanting beauty whose landscape, myths and magical light have inspired poets and artists across the ages.
